Volleyball: Top four seeds sweep to 2-3A semifinals

The Chaska volleyball team made its final home match of the season a quick one.

In fact, the three other top seeds in the Section 2-3A tournament did the same.

The second-seeded Hawks swept No. 10 seed Minnetonka 25-12, 25-16, 25-13 at home on Friday night in the quarterfinals.

The Skippers finished the season with a 10-18 overall record.

Chaska , now 24-3 on the season, plays third seed Eden Prairie in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 5.

EP rolled to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 victory over sixth seed Waconia on Friday.

Top seed Shakopee swept Chanhassen 25-14, 25-11, 25-10 on Friday to set up a semifinal against fourth seed Prior Lake . The Storm finished their inaugural season 10-18-1 overall.

The Lakers swept fifth seed Willmar 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 on Friday, meaning the top four section seeds will be in the semis.

The semifinals and Nov. 7 championship match will take place at Chanhassen High School's gym.
